On Thursday morning I returned to Stretton Lodge for our weekly forest school session.
The children and staff wrapped up well and we walked over to the forest school ready for our session. We made a circle, sang our good morning song and counted ourselves into Forest school.
We gathered around the fire circle to discuss our rules which keep us safe. Today we were lighting a big fire
so we can cook some tasty treats
.
Before we lit the fire, we had some free time to explore, on offer we had:
Whilst pond dipping we found 5 frogs
the children were very excited and brave as they held them gently. We are hoping to have some frogspawn in our pond soon.
As I called “1,2,3 wash your hands”, the children listened well and knew it was time to light our big fire
. Once the fire was ready, the children took turns with toasting a marshmellow
, we used biscuits to make s’mores
.
The children each had a yummy hot chocolate to warm their tummies before we headed back to nursery to get ready for lunch time ![]()
