Fire, Fun & Teamwork: A Forest School Adventure at Woodseaves C.E Primary

On Monday Gemma visited Woodseaves C.E Primary for our weekly forest school session. We began by going over the rules to ensure everyone stayed safe and respected the outdoor space. After that, we recapped the fire triangle, discussing the three essential elements needed to start and maintain a fire: heat, fuel, and oxygen 🔥.

The children engaged well with the discussion, recalling previous knowledge and asking thoughtful questions 🔥

Once we had covered the fire safety basics, I lit the fire, and the children enjoyed roasting marshmallows to make delicious S’mores. Alongside their treats, they also had a warm cup of hot chocolate, which was perfect as it was a chilly day ☕🍪
To end the session on a high note, we played a couple of games—Sardines, which had the children working together in a fun hide-and-seek challenge, and The Floor is Lava, where they had to navigate obstacles without touching the ground.

It was a fantastic session filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of laughter and I’m looking forward to return again after half term 😊
